Eight gunmen on motorcycles murdered Philipine radio talk show host Rolando “Dodong” Morales shortly after he finished presenting his program on DXMD.

Morales was gunned down while also riding his motorcycle. The killers continued firing at him as he lay on the ground with his body containing 15 bullets.

A colleague told ‘Reporters without Frontiers’ that the motive for the attack was unclear but a week earlier Morales had fiercely criticised drug traffickers in the region and received death threats.

Morales is the fifth journalist killed in the Philipines this year for apparently doing his job.
