Power FM’s Crystal Vas gets her own cheersquad

‘I thought mum cheering me on at year 7 athletics was bad.’

With the first ever South Coast women’s AFL footy season kicking off, Power FM’s Crystal Vas was set to start her first game sitting on the bench.

Co-host Sam thought she might be in need of a boost, so he organised a special cheerleading squad called Crystals Commando’s.

Equipped with wigs, crop tops, pompoms and signs, the squad’s purpose was to cheer her on…and no one else.

“I thought mum cheering me on at my year 7 athletics carnival was bad, but she’s got nothing on Sam”, said Crystal.

Sam and his squad of listeners didn’t let her embarrassment stop them, and continued to cheer louder and more passionately.

“I’d pushed Crystal a lot in our show, but there was a moment when she looked at me and I thought maybe I had finally pushed her too far,” said Sam.

Crystal’s team the  Bomaderry Tigers then went on to win, and Sam is confident they wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of Crystals Commandos.
