Radio catches 1D fever

One of the world’s biggest boy bands, One Direction, has returned to Australia for their sold out 2013 Take Me Home tour.

With the chances of finding tickets to any of the group’s shows like finding the needle in a haystack, radio stations fortunate enough to have tickets to giveaway are capitalising on the opportunity.

The Today Network’s late night show ‘The Bump’ hosted by Angus O’Loughlin, is one such show with highly sought after 1D tickets. The show is also heavily covering the tour, reviewing shows, updating fans with the groups location and promoting the groups new movie ‘This Is Us’.

The show also has a twitter competition at #bumpingme1dtickets that listeners tweet to give listeners the chance to win the exclusive tickets.

1D’s arrival in Australia has also lead to many other twitter trends with the groups very large fanbase taking to social media to have their say.

The trailer for 1D’s soon to be released film ‘This Is Us’ is here.
