Rove joins 2DayFM Breakfast in 2016

The rumours of Rove to 2Day breakfast are true!

The Hit Network has officially announced that gold Logie winning comedian, Rove McManus is set to co-host an all-new breakfast show in Sydney for 2016. SCA aren’t giving away any more details just yet on who will join McManus in the highly sought after Sydney Breakfast slot.

SCA also paid tribute to Dan and Maz saying they have done an amazing job in the hot bed that is Sydney radio. They will be departing the Sydney spotlight, but apparently are not going too far, and although SCA have said the duo will remain a very important part of the Hit Network line up, again they are keeping their cards close to their chest.

Executive Director for Metro Operations at Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) Guy Dobson Said:

“Sydney needs a big show, with a big name and it doesn’t get much bigger than Rove. We’ve got a superb plan in place to make sure the new show is everything you’d expect from one of Australia’s greatest entertainers. But…why would we tell you everything now? We’re holding some of the show-and-tell for later. Watch this space, all will be revealed very soon!”

“Dan and Maz are a fantastic radio show. We’re committed to continuing to nurture and develop their infinite talents. They’re definitely a show for the future and remain an incredibly important part of the SCA family”

“We look forward to welcoming ROVE to the Hit Network and are confident he’ll add further strength to what is already Australia’s number 1 commercial radio network”

McManus had this to say about his new role on breakfast radio:

“Sydney has been my Aussie home for a number of years now and I very happy to be making it a more permanent arrangement, even if it will mean waking at 4am. The immediacy of radio has the same electricity of live television – anything can happen and the best shows are the ones that go off script but unlike TV you can eat while you work and who doesn’t want to work with the smell of fresh toast.”

Sydney-siders will get to hear Rove McManus back on the airwaves, every morning 6-9am weekdays in 2016.
