SCA acquires Carnarvon Communications

Southern Cross Austereo has bought two more Western Australian radio stations with the acquisition of Carnarvon Communications.

The two stations, Classic Hits 666 and Hot Hits 997, complete SCA’s coverage of Northern WA. Classic Hits 666 will be rebranded as Triple M and Hot Hits 997 to Hit 997.

SCA Chief Executive Officer, Grant Blackley, said: “Carnarvon Communications, like Redwave, was a logical acquisition for SCA to extend our radio coverage of Western Australia. With Australia’s largest radio network, SCA is continuing to invest in audio and these two stations add to our reach and connection with local communities.”

SCA’s rebrand of the eight Redwave Media stations acquired late last year will occur on March 16.
