Southern Cross Austereo has announced the appointment of Vijay Solanki to the role of Director of Digital and Innovation. He replaces Clive Dickens who was poached by Seven West Media after just a year in the job.
Coming from a similar background, Solanki has over 20 years of business experience and 15 years in digital leadership. He started to explore websites and mobile at Capital Radio in 1999, he helped NME.com grow, he launched Shazam, took Castrol into digitally driven global football sponsorship and used social media to help BlackBerry build consumer success. Solanki has always had a passion for new technology and disruption especially when leveraging content.
He is currently Senior Director – Global Digital Innovation at Philips Head Office in Amsterdam and oversees the development of connected products, builds digital prototypes and works with technology teams to ensure consumer insights are at the heart of digital products and initiatives.

Relocating from Europe, Solanki will commence the role in May, 2015.
