Soccer on SEN

Melbourne sport station, SEN1116, will begin broadcasting live English Premier League soccer matches from tonight.

It will be the only free to air coverage of the English Premier League in the soccer mad city of Melbourne.

‘Premiership Live’, presented by Mark Saggers from BBC Radio Five Live, will begin at 11.45 each Saturday night, and will feature expert commentators, including Phil Neal, Kenny Sansom, Paul Walsh and Ray Wilkins.

Premiership Live will include full match commentary of one selected game, with regular updates from all other games. Details of the game to be featured will be announced each Thursday on SEN.

SEN’s coverage of the English Premier League augments a series of programs covering world soccer such as Soccer SENtral with Michael Zappone (Saturday 6–8pm), The Four Diegos (Saturday, 10–11.45pm), and a new one hour weekly program called EPL on SEN.

EPL focuses on the English Premier League, and is hosted by Ed Wyatt (SBS TV), Michael Lynch (The Age) and Carlos Alberto Diego (The Four Diegos). It will bring listeners up to date with all the action from the UK with interviews, celebrity guests, talkback, match reports and analysis.

Ed Wyatt says the program “brings together three blokes, from different corners of the world, who share a passion for the round ball game … We hope we will intoxicate Melbourne’s passionate sports public with our own brand of soccer madness. EPL on SEN is a show for the fans of the world game.”
