Controversial Sydney talk jock Stan Zemanek will call it quits at the end of the year to spend more time with his wife and children.

The 2UE night host has been bravely undergoing chemotheraphy to fight a malignant brain tumour in the morning, and then fronting up to his evening radio show.

News Limited papers are reporting this morning that Zemanek, 59, will not continune his networked program:
“I decided I have had enough of night-time radio and I am going to concentrate on getting my health back in order and fight this dreadful disease.”

Zemanek’s contract expires in three weeks and the announcer had been expected to re-sign with Southern Cross Broadcasting, albeit at a slightly reduced figure.
