Tiny Town prepares for Triple J Concert

The tiny western Victorian town of Natimuk is set to host up to 15 000 people tonight for Triple J’s ‘One Night Stand’ Concert.

The Wimmera town won the right to hold the concert after an innovative bid.

Triple J says the win was sealed with the delivery of Natimuk’s bid, via a rockclimber, who abseiled off a Sydney office building.

The region has been a frenzy of activity in the three weeks since the winner was announced and the Natimuk Showgrounds have been transformed for tonight’s performance.

Local band, ‘Less than Perfection’, will play alongside headline acts, Grinspoon, the Dissociatives, Koolism and Eskimo Joe.

Police and security will help control the crowd, with music lovers expected from across the state.

Some are calling the concert the opportunity of a lifetime for the town and locals say it will help put Natimuk on the map.
