Andrew Harwood has died of a severe asthma attack at the age of 62.

Harwood was the son of the late Ena Harwood. He had a career spanning 40 years, starting in Warwick, Queensland, in 1968.

He worked on 2KY, was a voice-over announcer on Channel Seven and also, in recent years, did mid-dawns on 2UE.

On tv he was he was the compere of It’s Academic, which he hosted from 1972 until 1978. He was also the compare of Jeopardy.

Andrew Harwood is survived by his wife, and two daughters, Lani and Taci
