‘The Coach,’ Col Thompson has passed away.

Col worked at 4IP, 4BK, 4BH in sales and promotions and as a footy commentator on radio and on tv.

He was also station manager of 4BH and co-founder of the Brisbane RATS club.

Col played league for Graceville and was the club’s first Brisbane representative player in the 1950’s.

He was a commentator for Channel 9 and 4IP and also managed Brisbane band ‘The Dwellers.’

Col got his nick name ‘The Coach’ from a character he played in a long running series of car sales ads.
