He’s one Australia’s most recognisable radio voices and today Vic Lorusso – traffic reporter for Gold 101.7’s Jonesy & Amanda – celebrates 25 years in the job.
Vic was just nineteen years old and in year 12 at school when he started out doing traffic reports for the station.
Today, he’s the head honcho – now the CEO of ATN, Australia’s biggest provider of traffic reports.
This morning, Vic joined Jonesy & Amanda live in the studio to reminisce, revealing that over his two and half decades of traffic reporting, he’s clocked up 22,000 hours flying over Sydney in a helicopter.
He says Sydney traffic has changed enormously over that period.
“We’ve seen the evolution of Sydney and how much it’s grown over that time.”
Jonesy also recalled the day many years ago that he accepted an invitation from Vic to take a trip in the chopper … whilst nursing a raging hangover.
