After seven years as part of the team, Jack Post has announced he is calling time on his journey with Gold 104.3’s The Christian O’Connell Show. Listen to the announcement below.

Making the announcement on air, Jack said:
“I leave with nothing but gratitude and so much love for you guys, and for the show. It really has been an amazing period of my life and in some ways surreal to say goodbye. But I can’t tell you how much it means that you guys have been supportive, accepting, understanding of this decision. I’m going to miss so much.
I’m so proud to be leaving where it is. The show’s at number one. I love you guys. I deeply wish you all the best for the future, but it’s time for me to go. I think I have to say goodbye, breathe some space into my life away from this radio show, and see what comes next and what creative energy returns to me and what I could do after this.”
Christian O’Connell replied:
“It’s been the greatest pleasure in my life to have built the show from day one with Jack. We’ve become a formidable force on air, and we’ve also become very close friends. Which makes his leaving so hard as not only will I miss my partner in crime, but a dear friend as well. We’ve been through so much together and we’ve changed the game with what we achieved in our time together. What a ride it’s been! I support his calling to leave and start his own new chapter, he is a world-class talent.”

Post, who cut his teeth at Melbourne community station SYN FM as a teenager before going on to work with radio’s powerhouse team of Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, was quick to pay tribute to his Gold 104.3 colleagues on Instagram:
“To Christian, to Patsy, to Rio and Caitlin, and everyone who works with the show — thank you.”
“And thanks to everyone who has worked with us in the past. Especially Brad Hulme, who provided so much guidance in my early years on the show — thank you for believing in me.”
“Thank you to each and every listener who chooses this as their breakfast show. I love talking to you in the mornings, I love meeting you on the street — don’t stop saying hello.”
Post says that knowing Christian O’Connell has been one of the most profound relationships of his life.
“It is the defining friendship of my 30s, and his impact on me will last forever. I’ve so much more to say about him, but for now I will simply say: I love you, mate. Thank you for everything.”
Jack’s final day on air will be this Friday, May 23 with Christian launching a nationwide search for a new team member. In the next few weeks Christian will also be sharing some big news about the future of the show.
