The new breakfast duo of Mark and AB (Mark Darin and Annabelle Brett) and departing drive team of Todd and Sami (Todd Widdicombe and Sami Muirhead – pictured on their last day) have seen 92.7 MIX FM surge to the top in the latest Xtra Insights survey of the Queensland Sunshine Coast. Mix and fellow Great Southern Land Media station 91.9 SEA FM both overtook SCA‘s 91.1 Hot FM.
MIX had a 17.9% audience for Mark and AB on breakfast with SEA’s team of Foz and Brooke (Luke ‘Foz’ Forrest and Brooke ‘Smithy’ Smith) up 4.2 to 16.4%. Drive also saw Hot FM drop to third behind MIX and SEA. Todd and Sami’s final survey together saw the pair up 3.1 to 17.3% top.
Hot took the biggest hit this survey (down 5.2%) with triple j also down 4.1% to sit just ahead of ABC Sunshine Coast.
MIX FM picked up the most new listeners, additional near 10K cume audience and SEA impressive across the day. MIX FM’s gains in the evening and on the weekend were the biggest boost to gain their No 1 position. Evenings were the only spot where SEA dropped, the difference between the pair.
Ben Erbsland, GSL Media Content Director said:
“This result is testament of all the hard work the entire GSL Media team put in to this year’s survey. To achieve this result is incredible – I couldn’t be prouder”.
Carla Vella, GSL Media Managing Director added:
“We’re incredibly proud that Mix FM has returned to number one and SEA FM has surged into the number two position on the Sunshine Coast. These results are record breaking and demonstrates the power of our exceptional talent.
But most importantly, it’s about our community and our listeners. They are the reason we do what we do, and this outcome reflects the deep bond they have with our shows. From breakfast through drive, our audiences have voted with their ears, and we’re grateful for their loyalty”.
