Chad Cornes joins The Run Home on SEN SA

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is starting to look increasingly Cornes-y.

The network has revised its previously confirmed 2026 talent lineup with departure of Michelangelo ‘Rooch’ Rucci, with Port Adelaide star Chad Cornes now to be part of SEN SA’s The Run Home alongside Kym ‘Kymbo’ Dillon.

Chad discussed the change earlier today with his brother, Kane Cornes, and Sam Edmund on SEN Breakfast, following an earlier announcement that he would be joining SEN SA breakfast this year as part of Breakfast with Bicks, Chad and Walshy.

Cornes told (ahem) Cornes:

“It’s a great opportunity. I’ve known Kymbo for years, I love him, he’s a great man, so to do that every afternoon is really exciting.”

SEN’s SA Breakfast team will now be Mark Bickley (Bicks) and Jarrod Walsh (Walshy). The new program, The Run Home with Kymbo and Chad, will officially launch on February 9, aligning with Superbowl Monday.

The delightful irony of all this corny talk is that Triple M in a strange way foretold Chad Cornes joining SEN. Last September they ran a series of social media posts hinting that they had poached Cornes, Kane that is. Kane and Gerard Whateley have become the most recognisable faces and voices of SEN. The joke went far enough that CEO Craig Hutchison denied it could possibly be true on his Sounding Board podcast.

As it turns out Triple M meant Triple M Footy had Chad joining the team for the 2025 SANFL grand final. He did a heck of a job as SEN nabbed him shortly thereafter.

SEN’s Group Radio Director, Sam Thompson, paid tribute to the departing journalist and broadcaster Rooch’s extensive media career.

“Michaelangelo Rucci is one of the great servants of South Australian sports media. His dedication, insight and passion have enriched SEN and the wider sporting community for decades, and we thank Rooch sincerely for his outstanding contribution and wish him all the very best in his next chapter.

At the same time, we’re thrilled to welcome Chad Cornes to SEN SA’s The Run Home alongside Kymbo from 2026. Chad’s competitive spirit, football IQ and connection to South Australian fans make him a fantastic addition to our lineup, and we can’t wait for listeners to join The Run Home with Kymbo and Chad when it launches on February 9.”

The Run Home with Kymbo and Chad can be heard on SEN SA 1629am and SEN Mt Gambier 1629am Monday to Thursday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, and Monday to Friday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm during the AFL season.
