UPDATED – We got him – Triple M Footy fuel Kane Cornes rumours

UPDATED Tuesday Sept 16 – Triple M Footy have CHAD Cornes onboard and joining the team this Sunday for the 2025 SANFL grand final between Sturt and Glenelg. Absolutely pot stirring, corn popping cleverness from SCA to create this much extra attention to the news. Don’t think SEN will mind much either.

Since his sporting retirement at the end of the 2015 season, Kane Cornes has been a well respected pundit for the Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), covering everything AFL, and on SEN Breakfast with David King Mondays and Fridays. So it must have been a awkward conversation this morning when Triple M Footy put the pictured image up on their socials yesterday, suggesting a ‘corny’ announcement at midday tomorrow, Tuesday September 16.

The Herald Sun (subscription required) have been suggesting since finals commenced that Cornes is headed to SCA, perhaps on air for The Fox or Triple M Melbourne, perhaps also a podcast with LiSTNR. They also suggested that King could be joining him.

SEN CEO Craig Hutchison said on his Sounding Board podcast with Damian ‘Damo’ Barrett last Tuesday that the pair were contracted until the end of next year and both were the types of people who were true to their word once a commitment was in place.

As to what the corn reference means, we shall have to wait till tomorrow to find out.
