The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Station Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of RoxFM. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in the community, working closely with volunteers, sponsors, and local organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the general coordination and administration of RoxFM’s daily operations, including finances, sponsorships, and publicity.
- Act as the face of RoxFM, liaising with community organisations and representing the station at events.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, including youth announcers.
- Manage the station’s website and social media presence, ensuring content is current and engaging.
- Source new music, manage the music library, and ensure programming diversity.
- Ensure compliance with broadcasting codes, licensing, and station policies.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to the RoxFM Board.
- Assist with fundraising, grant applications, and publicity campaigns.
- Oversee technical operations and work with IT providers to minimise broadcast interruptions.
- Promote and uphold RoxFM’s organisational values in all activities.
About You
Qualifications & Experience:
- Studies in Media, Marketing, Business Management, or significant relevant experience.
- Experience in volunteer organisations and/or radio broadcasting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, MYOB).
- Proficiency with Music Playout Systems (Jazzler) would be an advantage.

- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience coordinating and motivating volunteers.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work outside standard hours and be on-call for emergencies or technical issues.
