The June Triton Australian Podcast Ranker has an unchanged top three, Mamamia Out Loud #1, Hamish & Andy #2 and Sky News Australia Update #3.
The ABC’s true crime podcast Unravel, which this season is exploring the mysterious disappearance of 27‑year‑old Queenslander Jack McLennan, leapt into the top ten at #7, giving the public broadcaster three in the top ten (ABC News Top Stories #4 and ABC Conversations #5) with ABC News Daily pushed out of the top ten by Unravel.
LiSTNR had four in the top ten – Hamish & Andy, Dan Does Footy at #8, Life Uncut at #9 and Happy Hour with Lucy and Nikki at #10 and the second highest catch up radio.
The highest was SEN Breakfast, up one spot to #6, but down on both monthly listeners and downloads on May.
The biggest drop of audience was for Mamamia Out Loud. It had shed 300,000 monthly listeners, which is the entire audience this ranker of News Corp Australia‘s The Front (310K) at #13. Additionally strangely Mamamia Out Loud gained that amount in May after losing it again in April. How does a podcast keep varying by 300K month on month?
Mamamia’s The Quicky was also down 30K, having lost two of its hosts over the last couple of months. No Filter was down around 50K monthly listeners as well.
Ben Fordham Live was up 16 places to just sit outside the top 20. While the numbers are still small compare to Kyle and Jackie O, KIIS Breakfast was up 68 places to #238, now with more monthly listeners than the radio catch ups of Jonesy and Amanda and Christian O’Connell.
Sporting podcasts, mid NRL and AFL season also fared well, although news remained the top genre.
