USQ's Springfield campus where this online audio stream originates happens to be within the Brisbane and Ipswich broadcast licence areas.
Interestingly, Ipswich's licence area has no community stations, in fact only one station, commercial station River 949 'way over' in North Ipswich (very different to Springfield) for those not local.
ACMA tell those interested in starting broadcast community radio in Ipswich that there's no available spectrum. Rubbish. Plenty of low powered frequencies exist in the gaps between stations in surrounding areas.
A low powered broadcast frequency would assist this station or any other aspirants that wish to provide community programming that a wide coverage commercial station cannot viably do.
