The same question was raised when Martin Malloy called it quits. Altough not in the same ballpark as H&A, they too had incredible penetration in a Drive Shift right across Australia. Happily for Austereo they had Hamish and Andy in the pipeline. But who do they have in the pipeline now that H&A have called it quits for next year – at least as far as a Mon-Fri program is concerned?

Management has hinted that H&A’s replacements will be “already familiar to listeners.” Other than that they’ve narrowed it down to a two, three or more person show which could include someone from Nova or another station. Of course, there’s no way that Austereo didn’t see this coming way off in the distance and had had all sorts of contingency plans in place – including the pared down two hour a week show that will at least keep the duo’s picture in the network foyers for a couple of more years.

So, with the aid of these clues which suggest that talent could come from anyone in radio, TV or the comedy circuit, can you guess who will – or recommend who should – fill the big shoes of Hamish and Andy from 2011?
