The Australia’s ‘Strewth’ column reports: Having had the odd convivial glass or two over the years with John Fordham and his wife Veronica (hosts at the now notorious John Laws-Alan Jones dinner party where David Flint was the subject of a conversation), Strewth can confirm that they are not frugal hosts. Fordham wrote about wine before becoming a celebrity manager and is famed for his extensive cellar. So it was hardly surprising that someone yesterday should ask Laws — who boasts continually on air of his regular over-indulgence in American whiskey and Rosemount wines — if his recollection of the events of November 2000 could be clouded by the Fordhams’ legendary hospitality.
