The Super Radio Network are looking for a passionate journalist to join our Newcastle-based newsroom, delivering news across two stations, 2HD and NEWFM. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or early-career professional ready to grow their skills.
About the role
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our newsroom, delivering accurate, engaging, and timely content to our audience.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Presenting on-air news bulletins,
- Writing clear, concise radio news scripts,
- Recording and editing audio,
- Conducting interviews and sourcing stories,
- Attending press conferences and covering breaking news,
- Producing digital content for our website and social platforms.
What are we looking for?
You’re a motivated journalist with a strong news sense and a genuine interest in the Hunter Region.
You’ll also bring:
- Around 2+ years’ experience in journalism (radio or broadcast preferred),
- A confident, engaging on-air delivery suited to both AM and FM formats,
- Strong writing skills for broadcast news,
- Experience with audio editing and newsroom systems,
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team,
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines,
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communications, Media, or similar (or equivalent experience) is required.
