Over the last couple of mornings, the Tim Shaw Breakfast Show 2CC has held live auctions for the rights to be the Lead Bike and Lead Truck at this Sunday’s Convoy For Cancer Families. 
 
Local and interstate trucking companies and motorcycle groups all came together in the live auctions.  The final total raised was   $172,400,  a record for the Canberra Convoy which is in its 5^th year.

It was reported earlier this week that former radio host Mark Parton is believed to have put up his hand to stand for the Liberals in the seat of Brindabella in the ACT election.

The Cancer Support Group  has announced Capital Radio’s 1206 2CC and Forever Classic 1053 2CA have become supporters of the Convoy for Cancer Families.

2CC and 2CA will replace FM104.7 as the major sponsor of the Convoy and will host the Lead Truck and Lead Bike auction. The Cancer Support Group would like to thank FM 104.7 for their support.

The Cancer Support Group found itself at a Crossroads after this year’s Convoy for Cancer Families.

Talking Canberra 2CC has announced Chris Coleman will be joining the station as host of its drive time program, Canberra Live.

Talking Canberra 2CC radio presenter, Mark Parton will depart the station at the end of 2015.

Mark has been a part of radio in Canberra for the past 16 years, the last 7 with Talking Canberra 2CC. This also brings to an end a career in radio spanning 33 years.

Mark leaves to pursue his personal interests outside of the radio industry.

Mark Parton’s time at 2CC has been marked by strong ratings performance and 5 Australian Commercial Radio Awards for talk and current affairs presenting.

2CC PD Pete Davidson is over the moon with the result of the station’s fourth annual one day Radio-Thon for Canberra's Ronald McDonald House. 

In 12 and a half hours they raised $52,120 which will go a long way to helping maintain the vital services at Canberra's Ronald McDonald House.

ABC Radio's local Canberra station 666 has topped the national capital's ratings this survey.

ABC666 rose 1.0 share points to score 17.4% overall.

FM104.7 was second on 17.0% after a dip of 0.3 share points.

Third placed Mix 106.3 suffered a 1.7 share point fall to 15.1%, followed by ABC Classic FM, which had the largest rise of the survey, gaining 1.7 share points to 9.9%.

Fifth place was shared by two ABC stations, youth network triple j, which had the biggest fall of the survey, losing 1.9 share points to score 8.1%, and Radio National, up 0.5 to 8.1%.
