Cancer claims former Village Roadshow CEO at 72

Greg Coote was one of the founding Directors of 2Day FM along with legendary media personalities John Laws, Graham Kennedy and Mike Willesee when it launched in 1980.

Coote was even better known in the film industry with a raft of Producer credits to his name.

Through various film finance companies under his control, he was involved in Hollywood blockbusters such as Avatar, The Delinquents, The Power of One, Fortress, Lightning Jack and Paradise Road.

Variety reports that a funeral will be held in Los Angeles on Wednesday, local time with a memorial service to be announced for a later date in Sydney.
