He’s big. He’s jolly. His laugh is infectious. And he’s preparing a sackful of goodies to hand out to children. No, not Santa Claus . . . it’s Max FM breakfast announcer Craig Huth.
For the second year, Craig and the station have organised a campaign to deliver presents to sick kids being treated over Christmas at Manning Hospital, Taree.
In just three weeks of the on air Christmas appeal, Manning Valley businesses donated more than $6500, which is now being distributed by Huth, local dignitaries and Max FM staff.
About $4000 has been spent on toys from Mal’s Toy Shop like teddy bears, board games and Lego. Some of the items are for the children to take home, while gifts like DVDs and Wii computer games will stay in the hospital for other young patients to enjoy all year.
The leftover $2500 in cash will be donated to the children’s ward.
