2 new Supernetwork services now on air at Port Macquarie and Warialda

Bill Caralis’ Supernetwork has launched two new Commercial radio services in Port Macquarie and Warialda. The installation of these two new translator services is part of the Supernetwork’s multi million dollar technical and facility upgrade development plan.

The new FM service on FM 102.9 Warialda carries the Gem FM 95.1 Inverell signal and is the first Commercial Radio signal into Warialda and surrounding towns such as Bingara and Graves End.

The new FM service on FM 93.5 Port Macquarie carries the 2PM 531 AM Kempsey signal into those parts of Port Macquarie that have until now had an unsatisfactory signal.

Both translators have tested strongly, using state of the art equipment including new transmission towers, new transmitter, new processing equipment and all housed in new air conditioned stainless steel huts.

Caralis now owns and operates 32 stations and 33 translators licences in Regional NSW and South East Queensland.

Bill Caralis has told radioinfo: “I want to finish off all our regional translator installations this year and then move on to building and fitting out our planned and now approved new office and studio facilities for our stations 2HD/New FM Newcastle and 2TM-FM 92.9 Tamworth.

“I’m afraid that there will be no rest for our Supernetwork Group Engineer Alan Bone and his fellow engineers John Shackleton, Phil Cleverly, Len Buttsworth and Station Managers Peter Rasmussen and Greg Cachell until all these facilities are bedded down, I have just got to keep the vitamins up to them and keep them fit and in good health, I reckon by the time they have finished these installations they could all go the distance in the State of Origin.”

To top off his workload Alan Bone also leaves in 3 weeks for Singapore as the Supernetwork representative at the Asia Pacific Digital Exhibition and Conference
