2019 NSW Premier’s Multicultural Communications Awards

Reports on dowry abuse, the Christchurch terror attack and an innovative multilingual radio podcast for children were among the winning entries of the 2019 NSW Premier’s Multicultural Communications Awards announced this week.
 
Acting Minister for Multiculturalism, Geoff Lee, said the NSW Government was proud to celebrate the exceptional journalism of multicultural media and marketers.
 
“Our best and brightest professionals raised the standard even higher this year with fearless journalism and innovative marketing,” Mr Lee said.
“Tonight’s winners set the benchmark for aspiring multicultural media and marketing professionals, not just in our State but across the country.”
 
On the radio front, the following were recognised:

  • Best Audio Report: Manpreet Kaur Singh, Shamsher Kainth, Avneet Arora and Maya JamiesonSBS Punjabi
  • Best Use of Digital or Social Media: Sirine Demachkie and Kinderling Kids Radio – Mother Tongue
  • Public Interest Award: Avani Diastriple j Hack
