2025 has been a defining year for triple j. It began in January with the station’s 50th birthday and continued across the year with One Night Stands, Like a Versions, Unearthed talent and a couple of unforgettable countdowns.
One Night Stand returned to regional Western Australia with more than 15,000 Australian music fans attending and over $230K raised for charity. Unearthed High saw 16-year-old DRIZZZ top of the class. Like A Version had more than 125 million combined views and went vinyl. The triple j 50 On Tour gigs brought 20 local artists and special guests to five different cities, celebrating live music throughout November and Ausmusic Month. At the J Awards, an Unearthed High finalist from 10 years ago, Ninajiarachi, was this year’s Album of the Year Winner. And perhaps the most defining moment for the station in a long while was the Hottest 100 of Australian Songs, a very special countdown that genuinely sparked a national conversation about Australian music, as well as over 2.6 million votes.
Some of the numbers for the js in 2025:
• More than a billion total views of triple j, Unearthed and Double J content across digital and social platforms, including a 57% increase for triple j’s YouTube channel compared to 2024.
• 1.83 Million metro listeners each week (+3% YoY)
• triple j played 55% Australian music in 2025.
• $635K donated to 5 charities including Support Act, The Push and We Are Mobilise.

Now that’s said and done, triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2025 is next on the agenda with an announcement on the launch of voting for that to be made tomorrow, Monday December 8.
