23 of radioinfo’s most popular stories of 2023

It’s been a big year in Radio as well as Podcasting, streaming and all things Audio.

Metro Surveys have always been among the most popular stories on radioinfo. This year, readership for Surveys has grown exponentially with the introduction of new methodology and much more data along with the intriguing battle between 106.5’s Kyle and Jackie O and 2GB’s Ben Fordham and the continuing logjam at the top in Brisbane and many other matchups across the major markets.

In truth, five of the seven GfK Surveys released to date (Survey 8 will land tomorrow at 9:39 am) would have made it into the top 23 if we hadn’t culled four of them so as to allow for greater variety. Instead we’ve chosen the most read Survey results to represent the others. Spoiler alert: it was the first Survey of the year. However it came in at number two for most read story of 2023. That honour went to the release of the ACRAs Winners List.

People movements was another category that drew large audiences. It seemed as if there more goings than comings this year which made many readers more concerned about job security along with the disparity of wages paid by the industry.

There’s one story that we first published in 2015 that still attracts enough readers each year to place it in the top 20. This year, it sits in 19th place.
