2RPH coming to Wollongong

Radio 2RPH will launch its new FM radio reading service on 93.3FM in the Wollongong and Illawarra region tomorrow.

The station is extending its radio reading service after almost 4 decades of service to Greater Sydney and 14 years to Newcastle.

The Governor of NSW, Her Excellency the Hon Margaret Beazley will officially launch the service to the Illawarra at the Wollongong Art Gallery tomorrow morning at 10am.

The station will have programs of local relevance and readings of the Illawarra Mercury, and a range of other local publications. The station will also  provide opportunities for volunteers to become involved in different aspects of the station, including program presentation and production.

Broadcasting since 1983, Radio 2PH has a small team of paid staff, led by General Manager Barry Melville and Chairperson Di Collins, plus about 200 volunteers.
