2SER looks for a new MD as Martin Walters resigns

Martin Walters has resigned as Managing Director of radio station 2SER.

2SER is a community radio station jointly owned by The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Macquarie University.

Martin joined the station in 2019 during its 40th year and successfully led 2SER through a number of challenges, including navigating the COVID-19 lockdowns and driving a listener fundraiser in 2020 to replace an FM antenna severely damaged by lightning.

He transitioned the station through a time of many improvements to internal systems and processes, and an organisational restructure at the end of 2021.

In a statement from the Board of Directors they thanked “Martin for his compassionate leadership, enthusiasm and achievements, which have positioned the station well for future success. The Board wishes Martin all the best as he pivots his career to a different sector.”

Cameron Woods has been appointed as Acting Managing Director
