The Bill Caralis owned 2SM Supernetwork has further demonstrated its commitment to local news with a large expansion across New South Wales and South East Queensland.

Chris Lodge General Manager at 2LM/ZZZ FM Lismore confirms 10 new appointments to the network: “we continue to train and provide opportunities for journalists across our network and the radio industry continues to take the easy way and poach our people instead of training their own.

This announcement must be some sort of record within the radio industry and it will be interesting to see just how long our friendly competitors leave these people alone before they come calling again.”

Additionally, the Supernetwork employs 25 journalists in Sydney and Newcastle alone.

Caralis himself quips: “I feel like a headmaster in Radio TAFE! I love giving young people the opportunity of entering the radio industry but I would like to see in 2007 the rest of the industry pitch in and train their own.”
