2TM and 92.9 will honour Australian Country Music in January

2TM and 92.9 in Tamworth will hold a celebration of Australian Country Music in place of what would have been the 49th Tamworth Country Music Festival.

2TM has long been associated with the Festival and with the cancellation of the 2021 festival due to COVID, the station decided to continue its celebration of Australian Country Music, by exclusively playing Australian Country Music for the ten days that would have been the Festival.

2TM will also conduct artist interviews, both in station and over the phone for those artists who are unable to make it to Tamworth.

2TM / 92.9 General Manager Nikki Kenwrick said, “We are extremely proud that we can still celebrate Australian Country Music with our listeners as usual and in a prolific way over the ten days of what would have been the 49th Festival. It is extremely important to the station’s heritage that 2TM continues to do what we have always done for Australian Country Music and it’s Artists.

“With some of the biggest names in the Country Music chatting to us over the ten days, we will be keeping our audiences entertained with interviews and live performances both on air, and through our social media platforms.“

2TM will broadcast live from the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre, the 49th Golden Guitar Awards, also providing a social media feed as the winners are announced.

Sister station 92.9FM will be holding its own separate celebration of music called ‘Requestival’ starting on 22nd January
