2TM and 92.9fm Tamworth raised $6057.80 during October in support of Breast cancer awareness month which was handed over to Serendipity Tamworth this week, a local NFP charity raising funds for the improvements of local facilities and patient needs associated with breast cancer including purchasing equipment and providing care packs to women undergoing treatment for breast cancer in the New England and the North West.
Both stations raised awareness on air with interviews, a Bra-B-Q in the Fitzroy Plaza and local businesses donating items for raffle prizes.
This years campaign also saw two fun and creative additions. The La-De-Bra competition let listeners decorate a bra for a chance to win return flights for two from Tamworth to Brisbane thanks to Link Airways. Susan is holding the winning bra in the main picture.
Not to leave the kids out, the stations also ran a kids colouring in competition, for a chance to win one of three family passes to the movies, thanks to Forum 6 Cinemas Tamworth

‘2024 has been our third year of supporting the important message of Breast Cancer Awareness month with our listeners. Radio is the perfect platform to let the community know what services are available locally, and how to access them as well as some fun ways to help raise money, that also stays local. We look forward to supporting this event again next October.’
