“The proven reliability and bandwidth of the Request broadband network underpins this partnership,“ said Request CEO Philip Sykes. “With an estimated number of hits to the 3AK site of 100,000 per year, broadband is able to provide listeners with a free-to-air experience through their PC.”

This high quality streaming will become a media-streaming showcase and is the first to launch the new solution using Apple Quicktime, implemented by the broadcast solutions company Commcord Communications (Commcord).

“Further developments will include the ability to include advertising engines and web cams in conjunction with the audio streaming”, said Commcord CEO John Karantzis. “This will provide an audio visual experience for radio listeners via their PC, providing interactivity with the possibility of an AV chatroom in the future”.
