The 40 most played songs so far this year: AirCheck Survey

With the first half of 2019 done and dusted, AirCheck Australia tallied which tracks received the most airplay on Australian radio.

AirCheck Client Services Executive, Riarne Gale says: 
“A total of 37,448 different songs were played over 2,000,000 times during the six month period. Of those, over 450,000 spins were from an Australian artist or band.”

Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus’ smash collaboration ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ topped the list with an impressive 15,280 spins across 29 stations. Nova 919 Adelaide was the track’s top supporter, spinning the track 898 times. The song also spent 6 weeks atop the Weekly Airplay Chart, first reaching the summit on 31 January.

Only 80 spins behind, Sam Smith and Normani’s ‘Dancing With A Stranger’ took out second place. The sultry single was also the most played song between 6am and 6pm.
 
Imagine Dragons’ ‘Bad Liar’, Ava Max’s ‘Sweet But Psycho’ and Jonas Brothers’ ‘Sucker’ respectively rounded out the Top 5.

Dean Lewis‘ ‘7 Minutes’ was the top Aussie track in this time, in 8th place overall, earning 11,033 spins, with KRock Geelong spinning the track the most.

Combining spins for individual tracks, Pink was the most played artist, with a massive 34,652 spins while Aussies 5 Seconds of Summer were the most played band with 22,036 instances.
