$403,682 raised for 92.7 Mix FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids

92.7 Mix FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids has broken another record, this morning announcing that in just one month, the team has raised $403,682 for local children’s services on the Sunshine Coast.

Mix FM’s Breakfast personalities Mark & Caroline, as well as the Drive crew Todd & Sami worked tirelessly for the month of June, helping co-ordinate and publicise over 30 separate events, all to raise much needed funds for paediatric health services.

In 18 years, 92.7 Mix FM Give Me 5 for Kids appeal has donated over 4.4 million dollars for Sunshine Coast children’s health services. The figure of $403,682.00 for 2017 means 92.7 Mix FM averages over $13,000 every day of the month for the charity.

“The entire Sunshine Coast got behind us and showed up in droves to support the events all over the Sunshine Coast. We had a great feeling this year with so many new businesses and community members involved. Sunshine Coast take a bow that is another record for Mix FM Give Me 5 for Kids, you make us very proud. Such an awesome effort from everyone who gave us a dollar or a thousand dollars! A monumental effort! On behalf of every sick kid on the Sunshine Coast, and their mum and dad, thank you so much Sunshine Coast.”

The funds raised this year will go to continuing the local Clown Doctor Service beyond the two day per week, two year commitment already made, finishing touches on the Children’s Ward and Paediatric Emergency Department at SCUH eg. Play pods, distractive equipment and therapy, continuing the Yoga Therapy programme Wishlist has funded for years and the Delta Dog Service and finally purchasing 2 x Hamilton T1 ventilators for paediatric emergency patients at both Nambour and SCUH ED costing $82,000.
