4KQ will sign off at midnight tonight for the final time, just a week after farewelling the breakfast team of Laurel Edwards, Gary Clare and Mark Hine.

The Classic Hits station that as recently as Survey 5 last year was the #1 station in Brisbane, will make way for an all sports station SENQ from SEN, after ARN was forced to dispose of it after purchasing Grant Broadcasting.

For many of 4KQ’s loyal listeners and team members, today will go down in history as the day the music died, but fans of the station can share their memories of the station on the new 4KQ Friends Facebook Group, with 1500 members having joined since Friday.
