5UV’s window on the arts

North Terrace is Adelaide’s ‘cultural boulevard’, but most of the art lives on one side of the street, so community station 5UV is doing something to change that. Boulevart, is an invitation to cross the road, to view some of Adelaide’s finest up and coming artists, right on the street front in 5UV’s window.

Boulevart – Urban Experience Series is the first art exhibition in the newly upgraded display windows of 5UV Radio Adelaide – 228 North Terrace – a real cultural hub on the sunny side of the street.

Running from June to August, it features work by students of the Visual Arts Program of the South Australian School of Art, University of South Australia.

Boulevart – Urban Experience Series was launched this week.

The suite of exhibitions explores themes of location, site, identity and the diversity of personal experience in the urban context. The artists have been chosen to survey a broad range of responses in a wide range of media and will look at collective experience as well as highly personal investigations.

Curated by Steven Carson, Boulevart – Urban Experience Series is a joint project of 5UV Radio Adelaide, the SA School of Art, University of South Australia and Adelaide City Council, who have supported the project financially through their Arts and Culture Strategic Partnership Grants.
