After four years trying, IVF and losing a baby, The Hit Network‘s Christie Hayes announced on air this morning that she and hubby Triple M’s Justin Coombes-Pearce are expecting.
Christie’s struggle to fall pregnant she has shared publicly, with her co-host Dan Taylor supporting her, and in some instances Justin as you will hear above, every step of the way. And so Christie prerecorded the announcement especially for Dan as she knew she wouldn’t be able to keep the happy news under wraps from him.
Christie said this morning:
“It’s been four years in the making … I am pregnant. We are ecstatic, we are safe, and we’re in the second trimester already. I just want you to know that if you are going through IVF – I have been where you are. I know how hard it is. I just want you to know that it can happen. When you least expect it, your life can change.
I thank my beautiful listeners for being with me for being with me on the egg transfer day. I truly from the bottom of my heart believe that when I walked in that day I was surrounded by love, and optimism, and encouragement, and hope. Where there is hope, there is life. So, thank you.”
Dan and Christie host the Hit Network’s breakfast show across Tasmania and regional Victoria from 6-9am weekdays and also on LiSTNR.
