ABC Adelaide is on the move, announcing plans to relocate its city headquarters to a new arts and media hub alongside other arts organisations in the CBD.
The national broadcaster announced just over a year ago that its almost-52-year-old building at Collinswood was reaching the end of its suitability.
Due to be completed by 2031, the proposed new HQ will be located at the former Adelaide Bus Station site in Franklin Street (pictured above).
The new ABC offices will feature modern production studios, along with other content making, technical and administrative operations.
Country Arts SA, State Theatre Company South Australia and State Opera South Australia are also set to move to the new hub at the Tapangka site.
ABC Chair Kim Williams welcomed the move, saying, “It will be a real hub of energy and activity and creative production.”
