Next Saturday marks the 100th anniversary of the Anzac landing at Gallipoli, and ABC Local Radio is sending a team to cover the Dawn Service and other events marking the occasion.
The broadcast and will be anchored by Richard Stubbs, who has both a personal and professional interest in the military as his grandfather served as a stretcher bearer on the Western Front during World War I, and his father served in the Australian Navy. He also had an uncle who survived the Nek at Gallipoli.
Stubbs will be joined by Triple J Content Director Ollie Wards, and Radio National producer Serpil Senelmis.
For the past 10 years Stubbs has played a key role in ABC Local Radio’s annual Anzac Day coverage by capturing the stories, experiences and personal reflections of servicemen, women and their families. Here is a video recorded last week on what Stubbs and the team will be offering ABC listeners.
