ABC gains non-commercial Olympic Games rights

ABC Radio has gained the non-commercial broadcast rights for the next Olympic Games.

ABC Radio will again be “providing comprehensive radio coverage of the next Olympic Games, to be held in Athens in 2004”.

The ABC’s Director of Radio, Sue Howard says the ABC has “entered into a coverage sharing agreement with the Macquarie Radio Network for all Games sports competition and ceremonies.”

“A team that will include some of Australia’s top sports broadcasters will provide coverage of the games from Friday 13th August 2004.”

The announcement continues a long tradition of ABC Radio providing quality coverage of every Olympic Games since 1952.
