ABC Giving Tree Appeal returns to Hobart to support Tasmanians in need

The ABC Giving Tree, will launch its annual appeal in Hobart this Saturday, 12 November to help raise donations for Tasmanians most in need over the holiday season.

The ABC is inviting the public to join them to launch the Giving Tree at ABC Hobart from 10am this Saturday and will broadcast live from the event hosted by Breakfast’s Ryk  Goddard and Drive’s Lucy Breaden, featuring special guests and live music.

ABC Hobart Local Manager Samantha Stayner says the support of Tasmanians was more important than ever for this year’s ABC Giving Tree Appeal, “With the rising cost of living, a record number of Tasmanian families will rely on the funds raised by the ABC Giving Tree to be able to spread a little joy this Christmas.

“Donations received to the appeal allow our charity partners to provide gift cards to a person or a family struggling to make ends meet, giving them to the power to choose the gifts to purchase for their family and children.”

“The generosity of Tasmanians is unbelievable. Together in the last two years alone we have raised over $500,000, ensuring the impact of the ABC Giving Tree Appeal remains as significant as ever.”
