ABC Lismore eyes foreign correspondents

The ABC is to host a public forum on international journalism in Lismore.

ABC journalists Mark Willacy, Sean Dorney and John Taylor will speak about their experiences as foreign correspondents and describe what it is like to report overseas.

Topics to be discussed on the night will include the importance of having an Australian perspective on international events for an Australian audience, whether Australian media outlets can hope to adequately cover events all over the world, and how new technology has changed the role of the foreign correspondent.

ABC Local Radio’s Morning presenter Vicki Kerrigan will chair the forum from 7pm on Tuesday 3rd April at the Lismore Workers Club.

The forum coincides with the exhibition Through Australian Eyes currently at the Lismore City Library.
