Sonya Feldhoff and Jules Schiller will take over ABC Adelaide Breakfast together in 2024.
Feldhoff has hosted Afternoons for the last decade and Schiller has been on Drive since 2017.
The announcement comes after speculation that one half of the current breakfast duo, Stacey Lee, was going to be dropped from the breakfast show next year.
Feldhoff and Schiller have regularly paired to present an Off The Cuff segment on Afternoons with Feldhoff saying:
“Doing Off the Cuff with Jules over the past few years has been one of the big joys of my work life.
I’m looking forward to bringing that fun and heart to the other end of the day, along with all that makes Adelaide tick and the listeners who are already part of our Off the Cuff family.”
Schiller added:
“My spontaneous and unplanned half hour with Sonya and listeners has always been the highlight of my day. I’ve always wished it could go for longer. And now it can!
I can honestly say I’ll get up each morning with a smile on my face knowing Sonya and I can have the conversations that matter to Adelaide. And in a double bonus, I now have the afternoons free for Sonya to finally teach me to drive a manual.”
Speaking on air together shortly the announcement was made, Jules told Sonya, “It’s not every day a couple of fifty somethings like us get to do a major shift like this… thanks for having faith in us.”
ABC Adelaide Manager Graeme Bennett said:
“Our audiences have come to love Sonya and Jules’ regular Off the Cuff program and we’re excited to bring them together for our Breakfast audiences. For the past two years they’ve built their extraordinary on-air chemistry with some of the most original and entertaining broadcasting you’ll hear.
In 2024 ABC Adelaide will continue to celebrate the vibrant Adelaide community and with Sonya and Jules in Breakfast, we know we’ll be setting the right tone for the day.”
Further announcements about the 2024 ABC Adelaide line-up will happen in early December including what will become of Lee and her co-host Nikolai Beilharz.
