ABC Radio Canberra has just edged out MIX 106.3 for the top spot in the Canberra radio ratings survey for 2017.
The station recorded an overall market share of 16.9%, gaining 3.3 percentage points, while MIX 106.3 recorded 16.4% for a loss of 3.1 points, but remains Canberra’s top-rating commercial station.
ABC Canberra saw gains among all but the 65+ demographic, and records a 6.1% increase in the 25-39 bracket. Substantial gains have seen the station remain on top in the Breakfast timeslot, with the program adding 3.5 points to lead the market at 22.8%.
MIX 106.3 took hits in all but the 18-24 age group, which saw a gain of 3.3 percentage points, with their biggest loss of 12.3 recorded among the 10-17 sector.
2RN, ABC News, 2JJJ, and ABC FM all recorded a loss of less than 1 percentage point of their market share, while 2CA and 2CC saw gains of 1 and 2 points respectively.
Canberra radio research for this survey was conducted by GfK from July 23 to September 16.
