ABC Radio Perth has launched, in conjunction with Uniting WA, the Breakfast Blitz campaign to help people experiencing homelessness this winter.

Listeners are encouraged to donate non-perishable breakfast items at locations across Perth. Donations will then be used by Uniting WA to help those in need at their Tranby Engagement Hub, where they provide a warm drink, breakfast and a friendly ear to people who have spent the night sleeping rough.

720 ABC Radio Perth Breakfast presenter Mark Gibson said:

“After hearing the story of James, who lived on the streets for two years and now volunteers at Tranby, our listeners very generously offered to help.

So, through the Breakfast Blitz campaign, we’ll collect breakfast items such as cereal, oats, coffee and tea and pass them on to those who need a hand.”
