Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia produce an historic Treaty Production Series

Dr Donna Odegaard AM, the CEO of Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia has produced and directed a significant Treaty Production Series in the theme of NAIDOC 2019 Voice, Treaty, Truth.

The Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia media team, Aboriginal TV Channel 4, Larrakia Radio, Australian Indigenous Radio and Sea Eagle Productions created this historic, first ever series in Aboriginal languages with historic film footage from Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia Resources.

Dr Odegaard’s work with over 26 international Treaty Tribes led to a PHD on the Larrakia Treaty Petitions in 2011, focused on the trajectory of the Australia Treaty debate and significant Treaty Petitions of the Northern Territory.

“Every decade since the 1960s the call for a Treaty came loudest from the Northern Territory and is as relevant today as ever. We called upon our Government to respect us, recognise us, take our collective voices seriously, listen to what we are saying to improve the lives and status of our people, and act on the unfinished business of those who came before us calling for a Treaty. We continue to call for a Treaty because we are honouring our past, present and future, and follow in the footsteps of those who fought and died for what we stand for – Voice, Treaty, Truth”
