The ACRA acceptance speeches you didn’t get to hear

At the ACRAs they get through over 100 awards in 33 categories at break-neck speed, presumably to get out of the room before penalty rates kick in. Or at least that was the opinion of one wag at the awards night. Another said that CRA was scratching to pay the rumoured $70,000 fee to get Twitter creator Dom Sagolla down to Melbourne for the weekend. Apparently he preferred to take the cash in Australian Dollars.

Whatever the reason, most likely just to finish before breakfast, few winners get to say anything as they are tossed the phallic little microphonic symbol of wireless after they jump on stage and and are whisked straight off again. But radioinfo was there to shove a mic in their faces as they bathed in the milk of victory.
